Welcome to the MiRoad2Work website, your new portal to apprenticeships, apprenticeship readiness programs and business opportunities in the transportation sector. If you have considered either working in a trade or doing business in the transportation construction industry, this site was built for you!
What you will see is the latest news, views, and opinions of more than 20 businesses, unions, nonprofits, and federal and state government agencies, who are working together as part of the The Partnership for Diversity and Opportunities in Transportation, or The Partnership. These organizations are dedicated to employing Detroiters in the transportation sector and to promoting local small businesses.
We know that becoming an apprentice involves more than filling out an application. We also know there isn’t one place where people can go to learn what resources for apprenticeship programs are available. Our mission is to make it easy for people to learn what they need to do to be successful. This is why we formed The Partnership and launched this public service website. The partners listed on this site, have already helped thousands of individuals and businesses achieve their goals.
You will find information on 22 apprenticeship programs, math and reading assistance, GED training, literacy and education, job readiness skills training, occupational skills training, vocational skills training, mental health counseling, corporate and individual crisis management, job placement, jobseeker workshops, orientation and recruitment, and small business advice.
We would love to hear your feedback. Please leave a comment and tell us what you want to learn more about.
